  1. Wii U Pro Controller for Windows Guide
  2. - This assumes you are using an external USB bluetooth device/dongle.
  3. - If you happen to be using a Toshiba one, you can skip steps 2-11 and just install the Bluetooth Stack as normal, following it's instructions.
  4. 1) Find/copy dongle's Hardware ID
  5. 2) Uninstall bluetooth device (Device Manager) and maybe related software, then unplug
  6. 3) Download/Install Toshiba BT Stack, stop when it asks to plug in device
  7. 4) Edit C:Program Files (x86)ToshibaBluetooth Toshiba StackDriverstosrfusbtosfrusb.inf
  8. 5) Copy a new line to the two ID lists. Increment the number and change the ID to yours.
  9. 6) Copy a new line for the description list. Increment the number and give it a name (your choice).
  10. 7) Save/Overwrite tosfrusb.inf w/ the changes. Plug in your device and hit OK on installer.
  11. 8) After reboot, Bluetooth Settings -> Add New Connection -> Express -> Hit Sync Button + Next
  12. 9) Load Wii U Pro Controller to PC software for settings/mappings and done!
  13. 1. Download the Bluetooth Drivers and the Controller Software.
  14. A) The Toshiba Bluetooth Stack v8 (x32 or x64 to match your OS)

  17. 2. Find and copy down your bluetooth dongle's hardware ID.
  18. A) Go to Device Manager (Control Panel -> Device Manager, or Start -> type 'Device Manager').
  19. B) Click the Bluetooth Radios dropdown, and find the listed device (probably something like 'Generic Bluetooth', ignore the 'enumerator' one). Right-click -> Properties -> Details tab.
  20. C) Select Hardware ID from the dropdown box. It should list something looking like
  21. USBVID_0A5C&PID_2148
  22. D) Copy the second number into something like Notepad.
  23. 3. Back in the Device Manager, right-click the device again and Uninstall it.
  24. If there is any bluetooth software installed (which is somewhat likely if your device *wasn't* simply 'Generic Bluetooth'), go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features and uninstall it.
  25. 4. Unplug your bluetooth device.
  26. 5. Run the Toshiba Stack Bluetooth setup until it pops up requesting to plug in your device. Just leave the installer here. Do NOT close it and do NOT plug in your device yet.
  27. 6. Navigate in Windows Explorer
  28. to C:Program Files (x86)ToshibaBluetooth Toshiba StackDriverstosrfusb
  29. 7. We will need to edit tosfrusb.inf (or the one described as 'system information').
  30. A) Open the file in Notepad (or something like Notepad++ if you have it).
  31. B) You'll see two lists that start with '%TosrfUsb.DeviceDesc1%=TosrfUsb_Device'. The % number increases depending on how many are on the list, ending at 152 (or maybe higher if you have newer drivers).
  32. C) For each of these two lists, copy and paste the last line. Add 1 to the number, and change the Device ID to the one you copied earlier in Step 3.
  33. Ex. %TosrfUsb.DeviceDesc153%=TosrfUsb_Device, USBVID_0A5C&PID_2148
  34. D) At the very bottom of the file is a place for the device description. Again copy and paste the last line, increment the counter, and this time change what's in quotations to whatever you'd like to call your bluetooth adapter.
  35. Ex. TosrfUsb.DeviceDesc153 = 'IOGEAR USB 2.1 Bluetooth Micro Adapter (GBU421)'
  36. 8. Save the changes. If Windows will not allow you to overwrite the file, save the file to your desktop (as tosfrusb.inf, NOT tosfrusb.txt nor tosfrusb.inf.txt), then copy/paste the file back into the tosrfusb folder, following the prompts to overwrite it.
  37. 9. Plug in your bluetooth device.
  38. 10. Go back to the Toshiba installer. Click OK on the plug in your device message. The installer should complete, and you will be asked to restart. Restart your computer.
  39. 11. Open your new Bluetooth Settings window (you should have a bluetooth icon in your icon tray, the window looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/Gs3wSnh.jpg). Select Add New Connection and use Express Mode.
  40. 12. Hit the Sync button on your Wii U Pro Controller and Next on the software. A Nintendo device should be listed. Select it and hit Next.
  41. 13. Load Wii U Pro Controller to PC program. The lights should stop blinking now, and you can set them how you like in the software. Hitting buttons/sticks should show feedback here, and you can map buttons to keys.
  42. ~ The controller can be turned off by holding it's Power button for a couple seconds.
  43. ~ After being turned off, turning it on again it should still keep it's Wii U pairing.
  44. ~ To resync w/ the PC after it's off, right-click the Nintendo device's icon in Bluetooth Settings and click Connect and hit the Sync button on the controller.
